When you create an account, we collect your email address and password (hashed). When you connect your Instagram account, we receive an access token from the Meta Graph API. We never store your Instagram password.

We also collect usage data such as page views, feature usage, and device status information to improve our services.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

Provide and maintain the FollowPulse service
Fetch your Instagram follower count via the Meta Graph API
Display your follower count on connected devices
Process payments through Stripe
Send service-related notifications
Improve and optimize our platform

3. Data Security

All Instagram access tokens are encrypted using AES-256 encryption at rest. We use HTTPS for all data transmission. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt with salt rounds. We follow industry-standard security practices to protect your data.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

Meta Graph API (Instagram) — to fetch your follower count and account information
Stripe — for secure payment processing. We do not store your credit card information.
MQTT Protocol — for real-time communication with counter devices

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data as long as your account is active. Follower history data is retained for the duration of your subscription. Upon account deletion, all personal data is permanently removed within 30 days.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access your personal data
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your account and data
Export your data in a machine-readable format
Withdraw consent for Instagram API access at any time

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication (JWT tokens stored in localStorage). We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.
